## What are Dynamax Pokemon?

**Dynamax Pokémon** are special forms of certain Pokémon introduced in *Pokémon Sword and Shield* for the Nintendo Switch. By using the **Dynamax Bracelet**, a Pokémon can temporarily undergo a **Dynamax** transformation during battle, transforming into a more powerful form for the duration of 3 battle turns.

**Dynamax** boosts a Pokémon’s **HP**, and grants them access to **significantly stronger moves**, which as a result come with devastating effects. Once the battle progress 3 turns, or the Pokémon switches out, it to its normal form.

### Max Moves

Along with a physical transformation, the moveset the Pokémon currently knows will be adjusted to further reflect this, providing an increase in damage and secondary effects. Moves will update corresponding to both their typing, and whether they are a status move or not.

### List of all current Dynamax Pokemon

Thankfully, **Dynamax** is a very versatile phenomena and applies to **every** Pokémon. No matter the species, nor its generation of origin, so long as you're able to battle with it, it may undergo the transformation.

## Gigantamax

On a similar note, there is a sub-phenomena tied to **Dynamax**, called **Gigantamax**. This functions almost identically, but instead changes a Pokémons in-game model for the duration of the transformation, and also grants them a unique **G-Max** move which differs from the aforementioned **Max** equivalents.

With these steps completed, you are now ready to begin Dynamaxing your Pokemon in battle.

## How do I Dynamax Pokemon?

Once you have obtained the appropriate tools, you’re ready to begin Dynamaxing your Pokémon and the process is both simple and exciting!

### Dynamaxing within a Battle

Dynamax during battles functions slightly differently from the standard method. To begin, ensure that you have your **Dynamax Band** equipped.

Once these requirements are met, enter a battle and select **Fight**. On the battle screen, a new **Dynamax icon** will appear. You may activate this option alongside your chosen move for that turn. When selected, your Pokemon will Dynamax and execute the selected move simultaneously.

Your Pokemon will remain in its Dynamax form until either 3 battle turns have passed, or the Pokemon is swapped out. Following these steps will allow you to effectively utilize Dynamax in battle.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki.mmorealms.gg/pixelmon-wiki/general-guides/complete-guide-to-dynamax-pokemon.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
