✨What are Shinies? ✨
Shiny Pokemon are alternate variations of Pokemon that feature a different color palette from their standard form. While some have subtle color changes, many are strikingly different and often considered more visually appealing than their regular counterparts. As in most Pokemon games, Shiny Pokemon are significantly more difficult to obtain, and this holds true within Cobblemon as well.
Shiny Pokémon are always in high demand among players, making them an excellent way to earn PokéCoins in-game. Selling a sought-after Shiny (or even a Legendary) through the /gts can be a highly profitable method if you’re looking to boost your funds.
✨How can I find shinies on the server?✨
Here you can find all of the ways you can increase the changes of finding shinies on the server including facts about each of the methods.
Breeding
Breeding is one of the best ways to increase the chances of finding shinies on the server. While general breeding won't increase your odds, there are different methods you can implement to help increase the chances of you finding a shiny in-game!
Masuda Method
Masuda Method is a way for players to have increased shiny chances for Pokemon that comes out of eggs. Unlike in the games where you need one Pokemon parent from another game language (i.e. English with Japanese), all you need is a pokemon with a different OT for this to work.
Crystal Method
Crystal Method is another way for players to increase the chances of shinies from eggs using shinies they already own! If at least one of the Pokemon being bred is already shiny, then you will gain increased offs for getting a shiny from your egg! Using two shiny pokemon will not increase your odds further, it's only affected by one parent being shiny.
Combined Methods
Here's where you can get the best odds for Shiny Hunting via Eggs. If both of your Pokemon fit the Masuda and Crystal methods of shiny hunting, then both of the odds will stack and you will get the best odds for shiny hunting via eggs!
Catch Combo
Catch Combo is a mechanic first introduced in the Let’s Go games on the Nintendo Switch. By catching or defeating a specific number of a particular Pokémon, you can increase both the spawn rate of that Pokémon in the appropriate biome and your chances of encountering it as a Shiny.
If the combo is broken, either by fleeing from the Pokémon mid-combo or by catching/defeating a different Pokémon, the combo will reset, and you must start again from the beginning.
The maximum combo is 60, which boosts the odds of finding that specific Shiny to an impressive 1/445.
Shiny Charm
THIS FEATURE IS YET TO BE FULLY IMPLEMENTED ON THE SERVER SO BELOW CAN BE DISREGARDED UNTIL IT'S OFFICIALLY IN THE SERVER.
As in the main series games, players have the opportunity to obtain the Shiny Charm, which permanently increases their chances of encountering Shiny Pokémon on the server. The Shiny Charm also works in combination with other shiny hunting methods, making it even easier to find the specific Shinies you are searching for.
With the Shiny Charm, shiny odds are increased by 3×, improving from 1/4096 to 1/1365.
The Shiny Charm can be obtained by achieving 100% completion of your Pokédex through Pokédex Rewards which is a challenging feat to complete. To check your progress or claim rewards from Pokédex Rewards, simply use the command /pokedexrewards.
✨Are there other methods to obtaining shinies?✨
There are a couple different ways for players to earn shinies on the server which I will list all of the main ways players can obtain them currently:
Discord Linking
This is a simple way to obtain a free Shiny on the server, requiring only a Discord account. By linking your Discord account to your in-game profile on our server, you can redeem a kit that grants a random Shiny Pokémon. For more information on linking your account, please click HERE.
Pokedex Rewards
This is another relatively simple way to obtain Shinies on the server, including Legendary, Mythical, and Ultra Beast Pokémon. For every 10% of the Pokédex you complete, you will have the opportunity to claim rewards, with certain tiers offering a Shiny Pokémon. Some rewards may also include Crate Keys, providing an additional method for acquiring Shinies. Pokédex rewards can be accessed using /pokedexrewards.

You can use Crate Keys, obtainable through /crates with Gems or via other methods such as Pokédex Rewards, to open specific Crates that offer a chance to receive random Shinies, including some Legendary Pokémon. For more information on how to earn Gems, please refer to our guide HERE.

You can use the Auction House by running /ah to see if any players are currently selling Shiny Pokémon for a set amount of PokéCoins. If you have the required amount, you can purchase the Pokémon and add the Shiny to your collection.
Ranks
This is another way for players to obtain Shinies on the server, though it is only available through our Gems Store, as ranks cannot be acquired through any other means outside of giveaways and events. Depending on the rank you select, you may receive a random Shiny, and some ranks even include Legendary or Mythical Pokémon. Ranks can be purchased using /store, with Gems available for purchase HERE:
